Remembering someone important, creating something together.
I am delighted to share the beginnings of Hands for Humanity, a new project connecting Fresh Minds Education in connection with Macmillan, supporting children, young people and their families who have experienced the loss of a loved one.
Hands for Humanity will bring families together through creative workshops centred around remembrance, connection and celebrating the lives of the people who mean so much to us.For children and young people, understanding and expressing grief can often be difficult. Creativity can be another way to communicate feelings, explore memories and feel connected to their loved ones. Just as importantly, the workshops will provide opportunities for families to spend time together, recognising that everyone experiences grief differently and there is no right or wrong way to remember.
As Bereavement Support Coordinator at Fresh Minds Education, I feel privileged to be part of this project and to help create something that I hope will make a meaningful difference to families navigating the loss of someone they love.
I hope that through Hands for Humanity, we can offer children, young people and their families moments of comfort, opportunities to celebrate the lives of those they miss, and gentle reminders that even though someone may no longer be physically beside us, the love we have for them never goes away 💛
If you would like to find out more about Hands for Humanity or explore whether the project might be right for your family, we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch with us at Fresh Minds Education and we can have a chat about how you and your family might get involved 💛
With warmth and care,
Marie ✨
